This blog post is all about Cute Back-to-School Hairstyles for kids
As a mother, I can say that school mornings are always chaotic, especially if you are a type B person like me, who manages to lose items at the last minute.

Dealing with morning meltdowns and missing shoes, and on top of that, undone hair? Who has time to start doing hair in the middle of all that chaos? Well, you’ll have to do the hair anyway, but you will most likely be late.
And I don’t want you to be stressed and your kids to be late. So, I listed these 11 cute back-to-school hairstyles that are both easy and quick to re-create.
Kids have different hair types, and they love to play. I know you have seen those “how they went to school vs. how they came back” videos on TikTok. Yeah, kids’ hair goes through so much, but these eleven back-to-school hairstyles will not only make your child look cute but also be quick and easy to make and manage.
What Makes a Good Back-to-School Hairstyle?
Even though school mornings can be chaotic, your kid still needs to look put together. The best back-to-school hairstyles are those that you can do in five to ten minutes. Preferably hairstyles that are comfortable and out of the face, and that don’t need a lot of products.
11 Cute Back-to-School Hairstyles
1. Half Cornrows and Half Braided Hair
Well, this hairstyle will take some time to make, but it’s worth it because it can last up to a week. So, make sure you do it on a weekend. And the maintenance is easy.
Just make sure your child sleeps with a silk pillow or a bonnet.
2. Four Big Braids With Accessories
This is the hairstyle I usually do for my baby when I must do her hair on the same school morning; it takes me only 5 to 10 minutes.
Just use a rat-tail comb to part the hair, then start braiding. To make it look cute, add some accessories.
3. Strand Braid
Simple yet cute hairstyle.
When doing this hairstyle, use a round brush. Wet the brush (just a little), then brush all the hair away from the face and secure it with a hair tie. Then braid the remaining hair and secure it with an elastic band.
4. Half Up French Braid Duo
Very cute and princess-like hairstyle.
Part the hair into two sections and brush it well, then start braiding. Secure the braid with elastic hair ties. For extra hold, finish with a strong-hold hairspray to help keep the hairstyle in place during the day.
5. Simple Braid Pigtails
Simple and cute, can be done in less than 5 minutes.
Use a rat tail comb to part the hair. Just use a wet hairbrush or hairspray, secure the hair with a hair tie, braid the hair, and secure the braid with an elastic hair tie.
6. Bubble Braid Style
This hairstyle will be done in 5 minutes.
When I said “school and picture ready,” this hairstyle was the one that came to mind. You can secure the hair with colorful hair ties, or, if you want it to be extra cute, add these flower hair clips.
7. Double Afro Puffs
Have you seen anyone with this hairstyle who didn’t look cute? This hairstyle can last up to 2 days, but it’s so easy and quick to make.
Just use a gel; it depends on your child’s hair type, but we love to use eco gel. Secure hair with an elastic hair tie, then for the big puffs, spray the hair with water and curling spray
8. Twist & Beads
These twists are so cute, and the hair beads make them even cuter and more noticeable.
Section the hair into three parts and secure each part with a cute hair tie. Then start twisting. When you’re done twisting, you can secure the hair with a hair tie or add some hair accessories/beads.
9. Sideway cornrows
Let’s not forget our baby boys, too; they need their heads done, too. These sideways cornrows look cute on any kid.
10. Sideway cornrows with double buns
Fairy-like hair, so cute! Do two cornrows to each side of the head, and at the back of the head, add two big buns. You can add some accessories for ultra cuteness!
11. Two Colorful Dustch Braids
These mermaid-like Dutch braids are a go.
Add some colorful hair extensions for fun; your child will come home and tell you how many compliments they got that day.
